Recombinant Hepatitis C virus (HCV-1a) E2, His-tagged

Cat.No.: HCV-1a E2-30H
Product Overview: A DNA sequence encoding the Hepatitis C virus (serotype 1a, isolate H77) E2 protein (NP_751921.1) (Glu1-Glu278) was expressed with a polyhistidine tag at the C-terminus.
Description: E2 is a viral structural protein found in the hepatitis C virus. It is present on the viral membrane and functions as a host receptor binding protein, mediating entry into host cells. Therefore, it is a key target for the design of entry inhibitors and vaccine immunogens. Hepatitis C virus (HCV or sometimes HVC) is a small (55–65 nm in size), enveloped, positive-sense single-stranded RNA virus of the family Flaviviridae. Hepatitis C virus is the cause of hepatitis C in humans.
