Product Overview : CM Dextran Resin is a weak cation exchanger based on the well documented and well proven Dextran base matrix. The resin is produced by introducing CM functional groups onto the cross-linked dextran matrix.
Matrix : Cross-linked dextran
Ion exchange capacity : 4–5 mmol/g dry powder
Functional group : carboxy methyl group: –O–CH2COO–
Protein : carboxy methyl
Average particle size : 40-120 μm
Ligand : Carboxymethyl
Dynamic binding capacity : IgG (Mr 160 000) 1.6 mg/ml drained medium; Bovine COHb (Mr 69 000): 70 mg/ml drained medium; Ribonuclease (Mr 13 700): 190 mg/ml drained medium
Viscosity : Store swollen medium in the presence of a suitable bacteriostat, e.g. 20% ethanol or 0.01 M NaOH at 4–8°C. Sodium azide or thiomersal should not be used as bacteriostat.
Chemical stability : Stable to all commonly used aqueous buffers and additives such as 8 M urea and 6 M guanidine hydrochloride.
Physical stability : Negligible volume variation due to changes in pH or ionic strrength.
pH working range : 6-10
pH CIP range : 2-13
Autoclavable : In 0.1 M sodium chloride at 121 °C for 30 min
Warning : Avoid Oxidising agents and dextranase
