Description : | Mucosal vascular addressin cell adhesion molecule 1 (MAdCAM-1) is a multifunctional type l transmembrane adhesion molecule that is expressed selectively at venular sites of lymphocyte extravasation into mucosal lymphoid tissues and lamina propria, where it directs local lymphocyte trafficking. MAdCAM-1 is involved in the normal recirculation of lymphocytes between the blood and the gastrointestinal tract. MAdCAM-1 may be a relevant tissue-specific therapeutic target for the modulation of inflammatory bowel disease activity. |
Molecular Weight : | The predicted molecular weight of Recombinant Mouse MAdCAM-1 is Mr 63 kDa. However, the actual molecular weight as observed by migration on SDS Page is Mr 85-95 kDa. |
Source : | Mammalian cells |
State Of Matter : | Lyophilized. |
Purity : | >95% by SDS Page and analyzed by silver stain. |

Q&As (5)
Ask a questionWhile its primary application is in IBD, researchers are exploring the potential of MADCAM1 in other inflammatory conditions.
Vedolizumab has shown efficacy in inducing and maintaining remission in patients with moderate to severe IBD.
Common side effects may include headache, abdominal pain, and respiratory tract infections, but it is generally considered a well-tolerated treatment.
Challenges include finding the right balance between immune suppression and maintaining immune function and addressing potential side effects.
MADCAM1 levels can be measured and used as a biomarker to assess disease activity and response to treatment in IBD patients.
Customer Reviews (3)
Write a reviewReputable manufacturers often provide technical support to researchers using MADCAM1 protein.
Manufacturers can ensure high-quality production of MADCAM1 protein, maintaining its purity and integrity.
This guarantees the reliability and reproducibility of research findings and eliminates potential issues arising from impurities or contamination.
