Product Overview : Recombinant Rat Interferon Alpha 1, produced by transfectedinsect cells (Sf9), was 19.0 kDa.
Description : Interferon alpha-1/13 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the IFNA1 gene. Leukocyte interferon is produced predominantly by B lymphocytes. Immune interferon is produced by mitogen- or antigen-stimulated T lymphocytes.
Source : Insect cells (Sf9).
Purity : > 95% by HPLC analysis.
Biological Activity : Fully biologically active when compared to standards. Specific activity of 2 x 108 units/mg, as determined by cytopathic effect inhibition assay using rat cells challenged with VSV.
Handling And Storage : Purified Rat IFN Alpha 1 factor is provided lyophilized from Tris buffer with 200 ug/mL rat serum albumin. Store lyophilized, at -20°C. Upon reconstitution with 100 uL distilled water or buffer (5 mM Tris, 150 mM NaCl, pH 7.0), further dilute in buffered solutions. Store small aliquots at -20°C for long-term storage, at high concentration.
