Background : |
CD4 (cluster of differentiation 4) is a glycoprotein expressed on the surface of T helper cells, regulatory T cells, monocytes, macrophages, and dendritic cells. It was discovered in the late 1970s and was originally known as leu-3 and T4 (after the OKT4 monoclonal antibody that reacted with it) before being named CD4 in 1984. In humans, the CD4 protein is encoded by the CD4 gene. |
Cell Line Description : |
The antibody is directed against B°CD4 antigen, the bovine equivalent of human CD4 found on helper/inducer T cells. |

Safety Considerations : |
The following safety precautions should be observed.1. Use pipette aids to prevent ingestion and keep aerosols down to a minimum.2. No eating, drinking or smoking while handling the hybridoma.3. Wash hands after handling the stable line and before leaving the lab.4. Decontaminate work surface with disinfectant or 70% ethanol before and after working with hybridoma.5. All waste should be considered hazardous.6. Dispose of all liquid waste after each experiment and treat with bleach. |
