Description : The protein encoded by this gene is an interleukin 5 specific subunit of a heterodimeric cytokine receptor. The receptor is comprised of a ligand specific alpha subunit and a signal transducing beta subunit shared by the receptors for interleukin 3 (IL3), colony stimulating factor 2 (CSF2/GM-CSF), and interleukin 5 (IL5). The binding of this protein to IL5 depends on the beta subunit. The beta subunit is activated by the ligand binding, and is required for the biological activities of IL5. This protein has been found to interact with syndecan binding protein (syntenin), which is required for IL5 mediated activation of the transcription factor SOX4. Six alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding three distinct isoforms have been reported. [provided by RefSeq

Ask a question
What are the clinical applications of IL5RA? 10/20/2022

Recombinant IL5RA can be used to treat IL5-related diseases, such as severe asthma and eosinophilic diseases. It can reduce the frequency and severity of asthma attacks by blocking the signaling of interleukin 5.

Can recombinant IL5RA be used to treat other diseases? 06/03/2022

Currently, recombinant IL5RA is mainly used to treat IL5-related diseases, such as severe asthma and eosinophilic diseases. For other diseases, the suitability of IL5RA is subject to further research and clinical trials.

Does the use of IL5RA require blood routine examination? 12/10/2020

During the use of IL5RA, the doctor may ask to check the patient's blood routine regularly to monitor changes in blood counts and related indicators. This helps to evaluate the efficacy of the treatment and the safety of the patient.

Does IL5RA cause dependence? 10/26/2019

There is no clear evidence that long-term use of recombinant IL5RA causes dependence. For patients using IL5RA, it is best to treat and discontinue the drug according to the advice and guidance of their doctor.

What is the use of IL5RA? 10/22/2019

IL5RA is generally administered by subcutaneous injection. The specific use method and dosage should be determined according to the doctor's recommendation and the specific situation of the patient.

What are the side effects of IL5RA? 06/18/2019

Common side effects of recombinant IL5RA include pain at the injection site, redness and swelling at the injection site, cough, and sore throat. A small number of patients may experience allergic reactions or serious adverse reactions, so close monitoring of the patient's condition and signs is required when using.
