Description : | This gene belongs to the TBR1 (T-box brain protein 1) sub-family of T-box genes that share the common DNA-binding T-box domain. The encoded protein is a transcription factor which is crucial for embryonic development of mesoderm and the central nervous system in vertebrates. The protein may also be necessary for the differentiation of effector CD8+ T cells which are involved in defense against viral infections. A similar gene disrupted in mice is shown to be essential during trophoblast development and gastrulation. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. |
Source : | E. coli |
Species : | Human |

Q&As (6)
Ask a questionEOMES can affect the production, progression and prognosis of lung cancer by regulating CTLs function and immune surveillance cell types and functions.
EOMES plays a key role in the differentiation and function of CD8+ T cells, particularly in the formation and stability maintenance of effector memory T cells and cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTLs).
The molecular mechanisms of EOMES genes can be studied by analyzing the association between the EOMES gene and immune-related diseases such as autoimmune diseases, infectious diseases, etc.
Yes, EOMES is strongly associated with the occurrence and progression of a variety of lymphoid tumors (such as Hodgkin lymphoma, T-cell lymphoma, etc.).
Mouse gene knockout technology, small RNA interference technology, etc. can be used to study the role of EOMES in the immune system.
EOMES can enhance the reactivity of T lymphocytes in tumor immunotherapy, thereby enhancing the killing ability and therapeutic effect of tumor cells.
