Description : | This gene encodes the alpha subunit of the coagulation factor fibrinogen, which is a component of the blood clot. Following vascular injury, the encoded preproprotein is proteolytically processed by thrombin during the conversion of fibrinogen to fibrin. Mutations in this gene lead to several disorders, including dysfibrinogenemia, hypofibrinogenemia, afibrinogenemia and renal amyloidosis. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants, at least one of which encodes an isoform that undergoes proteolytic processing. |
Source : | E. coli |
Species : | Human |
Tag : | His |
Form : | PBS, pH7.4, containing 0.01% SKL, 1mM DTT, 5% Trehalose and Proclin300. |

Stability : | The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37 centigrade for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate is less than 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition. |
Storage : | Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles. Store at 2-8 centigrade for one month. Aliquot and store at -80 centigrade for 12 months. |
Reconstitution : | Reconstitute in PBS or others. |

Q&As (5)
Ask a questionFGA protein levels can be measured through laboratory tests such as fibrinogen assays and coagulation profiles.
FGA protein testing is used as part of the assessment of liver function, as the liver is responsible for the synthesis of fibrinogen.
Low FGA protein levels may lead to an increased risk of bleeding and impaired clot formation.
Conditions such as liver disease, disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC), and congenital fibrinogen deficiencies can lead to abnormal FGA protein levels.
Treatment for abnormal FGA protein levels may involve addressing the underlying condition and, in some cases, administering fibrinogen replacement therapy.
