• Description: Galectin-8, also known as Gal-8, Po66 carbohydrate-binding protein, Prostate carcinoma tumor antigen 1, PCTA-1 and LGALS8, is a member of the galectin family. Galectin-8 / LGALS8 was discovered in prostate cancer cells and has been studied extensively in the last few years. Various studies showed that galectin-8 is widely expressed in tumor tissues as well as in normal tissues. Galectins are beta-galactoside-binding animal lectins with conserved carbohydrate recognition domains.
• Form: Lyophilized from sterile 50mm Tris, 0.1M NaCl, pH 8.0. Normally 5 % - 8 % trehalose and mannitol are added as protectants before lyophilization. Specific concentrations are included in the hardcopy of COA.
