Description : This gene is a member of the leucine-rich repeat kinase family and encodes a protein with an ankryin repeat region, a leucine-rich repeat (LRR) domain, a kinase domain, a DFG-like motif, a RAS domain, a GTPase domain, a MLK-like domain, and a WD40 domain. The protein is present largely in the cytoplasm but also associates with the mitochondrial outer membrane. Mutations in this gene have been associated with Parkinson disease-8.
Source : HEK293
Species : Human
Tag : C-terminal Myc/DDK
Form : 1 vial of 100 µg gene specific transient over-expression cell lysate in RIPA buffer(25mM Tris-HCl pH7.6, 150mM NaCl, 1% NP-40, 1mM EDTA, 1xProteinase inhibitor cocktail mix (Sigma), 1mM PMSF and 1mM Na3VO4).
1 vial of 100 µg empty vector transfected control cell lysate in RIPA buffer.
1 vial of 250ul 2xSDS Sample Buffer (4% SDS, 125mM Tris-HCl pH6.8, 10% Glycerol, 0.002% Bromphenol blue, 100mM DTT).
Molecular Mass : 285.9 kDa
Storage : Upon receiving, store the sample at -20 centigrade. Lysate samples are stable for 12 months from date of receipt when stored at -20 centigrade. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Lysate samples can be diluted with 2xSDS Sample Buffer provided. After dilution, the protein sample should be aliquoted and stored at -20 centigrade for long term storage. Prior to SDS-PAGE fractionation, boil the lysate for 5 minutes.
Shipping : The lysate is shipped with dry ice

LRRK2 gene mutations may play an important role in neurodevelopment, including neural precursor cell fate determination, cell migration, and axon clumping.

What are the effects of LRRK2 gene mutations on other diseases? 10/21/2019

In addition to Parkinson's disease, LRRK2 gene mutations are also associated with an increased risk of other diseases, such as Crohn's disease, leukemia and cancer.

How to assess the prognostic impact of LRRK2 gene mutations on patients with Parkinson's disease? 08/30/2019

By analyzing the clinical and genetic data of a large number of patients, the impact of LRRK2 gene mutations on the prognosis of Parkinson's disease patients, such as age of onset, clinical symptoms, and disease progression, can be evaluated.

How do mutations in LRRK2 affect Parkinson's disease? 07/20/2019

LRRK2 gene mutations may complicate the pathogenesis of Parkinson's disease, including increased apoptosis, affecting vesicles, mitochondria, and autophagy function.

Do drugs that inhibit LRRK2 proteins have potential value in treating Parkinson's disease? 06/12/2019

Drugs that inhibit LRRK2 protein have potential value in the treatment of Parkinson's disease, but are still in clinical research and further research is needed on their efficacy and safety.

What are the ways to study the function and regulation of LRRK2 protein? 05/05/2019

The function and regulation of LRRK2 can be studied using different research methods such as cell culture models, mouse models, fruit fly models, and human induced pluripotent stem cells.
