| Description : | PARK7 or parkinson protein 7 belongs to the peptidase C56 family of proteins which acts as a positive regulator of androgen receptor-dependent transcription. PARK7 also functions as a redox-sensitive chaperone, as a sensor for oxidative stress, and it apparently protects neurons against oxidative stress and cell death. PARK7 mutations that impair transcriptional co-activator function can render dopaminergic neurons vulnerable to apoptosis and may contribute to the pathogenesis of Parkinson disease. PARK7 is an atypical peroxiredoxin-like peroxidase that scavenges hydrogen peroxide through oxidation of cys106. |
| Form : | Recombinant protein stored in 50mM sodium phosphate, pH 7.0, 300mM NaCl, 150mM imidazole, 0.1mM PMSF, 0.25mM DTT, 25% glycerol. |
| Molecular Mass : | ~22 kDa |
| Purity : | >85% by densitometry |
| Applications : | Western Blot |
| Storage : | Store product at –70 centigrade. For optimal storage, aliquot target into smaller quantities after centrifugation and store at recommended temperature. For most favorable performance, avoid repeated handling and multiple freeze/thaw cycles. |
