Description : This gene encodes a 14 kDa protein subunit of the splicing factor 3b complex. Splicing factor 3b associates with both the U2 and U11/U12 small nuclear ribonucleoprotein complexes (U2 snRNP) of spliceosomes. This 14 kDa protein interacts directly with subunit 1 of the splicing factor 3b complex. This 14 kDa protein also interacts directly with the adenosine that carries out the first transesterification step of splicing at the pre-mRNA branch site.
Form : 25mM Tris, pH8.0, 150 mM NaCl, 10% glycerol, 100 mM Arg. Store at -80 centigrade. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Stable for at least 3 months from receipt of products under proper storage and handling conditions.
Molecular Mass : 14.6 kDa
Purity : > 80% as determined by SDS-PAGE and Coomassie blue staining
Concentration : >50 ug/mL as determined by microplate BCA method
