Cat.No. : VCP-195H
Product Overview : Recombinant full-length human VCP was expressed by baculovirus in Sf9 insect cells using an N-terminal GST tag.
Description : This gene encodes a member of the AAA ATPase family of proteins. The encoded protein plays a role in protein degradation, intracellular membrane fusion, DNA repair and replication, regulation of the cell cycle, and activation of the NF-kappa B pathway. This protein forms a homohexameric complex that interacts with a variety of cofactors and extracts ubiquitinated proteins from lipid membranes or protein complexes. Mutations in this gene cause IBMPFD (inclusion body myopathy with paget disease of bone and frontotemporal dementia), ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) and Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease in human patients.
Source : Insect cell
Species : Human
Tag : GST
Molecular Mass : 120 kDa
Purity : >85%
Stability : One year at -70 centigrade from the date of shipment.
Storage : Store product at –70 centigrade. For optimal storage, aliquot target into smaller quantities after centrifugation and store at recommended temperature. For most favorable performance, avoid repeated handling and multiple freeze/thaw cycles.
Concentration : 0.1 μg/μL
Storage Buffer : Recombinant protein stored in 50mM Tris-HCl, pH 7.5, 150 mM NaCl, 10 mM glutathione, 0.1 mM EDTA, 0.25 mM DTT, 0.1 mM PMSF, 25% glycerol.
Specific activity :

The specific activity of VCP was determined to be 140 nmol/min/mg.

Purity :

The purity of VCP was determined to be >85% by densitometry, approx. MW 120kDa.
