| Description : |
Zinc finger protein 330 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the ZNF330 gene. ZNF330 is located in nuclear, predominantly expressed in the nucleolus. Immunolocalization of the protein in culture of mammalian cells indicates an association with the interphase nucleolus and a transient relocation to the mitotic centromeres and the midbody. In mitosis, it is associated with centromeres and concentrated at the midbody in cytokinesis. It contains 4 C4-type zinc fingers. The deduced protein sequence significantly showed nine highly conserved CXXC motifs indicative of several putative zinc fingers. ZNF330 is translocated from the mitochondria to the cytoplasm when apoptosis is induced and that it contributes to cytochrome c release.ZNF330 was immunologically characterized as a new human autoantigen, highly conserved during evolution from nematodes to humans. |
