Description : | Interleukin 8 (IL-8), formerly called monocyte-derived neutrophil chemotactic factor, belongs to the C-X-C chemokine family. It was originally discovered and purified independently by a number of laboratories as a neutrophil chemotactic and activating factor. It was also referred to as neutrophil activating protein, neutrophil chemotactic factor, leukocyte adhesion inhibitor, granulocyte chemotactic protein and T-lymphocyte chemotactic factor. IL-8 consists of 72 amino acids with a molecular weight of 8 kDa. IL-8 exhibits chemotactic activity in vitro for T cells, basophils and neutrophils. IL-8 activates neutrophils to release lysosomal enzymes including myeloperoxidase, -mannosidase and -glucuronidase. IL-1, TNF, Lipopolysaccharides and viruses induce the production of IL-8 from fibroblasts, keratinocytes, endothelial cells, hepatoma cells, astrocytoma cells, glioblastoma cells, lung epithelial cells, synovial membrane cells, melanocytes, melanoma cells and gastric cancer cells. |
Species : | Human |
Form : | Lyophilized |
Bio-activity : | Activity measured by ability of the protein to induce myeloperoxidase release from human neutrophils or chemotaxis of hCXCR-2 transfected mouse BaF/3 cells. ED50s for these measurements are generally 0.2-0.4 μg/ml and 0.2-1 ng/ml, respectively. |
Applications : | Activity Assay |
Storage : | Product should be stored at -20°C. Aliquot to avoid freeze/thaw cycles |
Reconstitution : | Recommended reconstitution in sterile phosphate buffered saline which contains at least 0.1% human or bovine serum albumin to prepare a stocksolution of no less than 20 μg/ml and vortex thoroughly. |

Customer Reviews (3)
Write a reviewIL8 has good fluorescence and absorption properties.
NIPBL has good stability in different environments and is not easy to degrade.
Through animal models or in vitro experiments to evaluate the mechanism of the recombinant protein in related diseases, we found that the effect is very good.
Q&As (6)
Ask a questionActs as a chemical messenger in the immune system that regulates inflammation and attracts immune cells such as white blood cells.
Regulating tumor microenvironment, promoting tumor growth and metastasis, and can be used in tumor therapy research.
IL8 plays a role in regulating and promoting the migration and activation of inflammatory cells in the inflammatory response.
Can be used to treat inflammatory diseases (such as rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis), tumors (such as lung cancer, breast cancer) and other diseases.
Yes, IL8 is closely related to immunotherapy, which can enhance the role of the immune system and assist in the treatment of certain diseases.
IL8 is generally prepared by gene recombination technology, and the IL8 gene is introduced into the appropriate expression system, and then expressed and purified.
