Cat. No. : IL2-255E
Description : Interleukin-2 (IL-2) is an interleukin, a type of cytokine immune system signaling molecule, which is a leukocytotrophic hormone that is instrumental in the body"s natural response to microbial infection and in discriminating between foreign (non-self) and self. IL-2 mediates its effects by binding to IL-2 receptors, which are expressed by lymphocytes, the cells that are responsible for immunity.
Source : Yeast.
Formulation/ Reconstitution : Lyophilized. Reconstitute with sterile phosphate-buffered saline containing at least 0.1% carrier protein.
Purification : Ion-exchange chromatography.
Purity : >95% as visualized by SDS-PAGE analysis.

Bioactivity : The biological activity of equine IL-2 was measured in a cell proliferation assay using carboxyfluoresein diacetate succinimidyl ester-loaded equine PBMC. The ED50 for this effect is typically 0.5 – 1.0 ng/mL.
Stability And Storage : Stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20°C. Stable for at least 3 months when stored in working aliquots with a carrier protein at -20°C. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
