• Description: Human insulin-like growth factor-1, also known as IGF-1, has a molecular weight of 7.6 kD. It is hormone similar in molecular structure to insulin. It primarily functions through binding to its specific receptor, the insulin-like growth factor 1 receptpor(IGF1R), to initiates intracellular signaling. IGF-1 is one of the most potent narural activators of the AKT signaling pathway, which stimulates cell growth and prolifration, and inhibits cell apoptosis. Thus, IGF-1 is widely deemed as a powerful substitute of insulin. The product is expressed as fusion protein with HSA, which increase its solubility and lifetime. The product presents a molecular weight about 74.5 kD, and has a much higher stability compared to IGF-1.
