Recombinant Rhesus macaque IL-6

Cat. No.: IL6-560R
Product Overview: RecombinantRhesus Macaque IL6 is a single non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing186 amino acids.
Description: IL6 is apleiotropic cytokine that plays an important role in host defense byregulating immune and inflammatory responses. Produced by T cells, monocytes, fibroblasts, endothelial cells and keratinocytes, IL6 has diverse biologicalfunctions. It stimulates B cell differentiation and antibody production, synergizes with IL-3 in megakaryocyte development and platelet production, induces expression of hepatic acute-phase proteins, and regulates bonemetabolism. IL6 signals through the IL6 receptor system that consists of twochains, IL-6Rα and gp130.
Source: Rhesus Macaque
Host: E. coli
Form: Lyophilized from a 0.2 um sterile filteredsolution of PBS, pH 7.4.
Purity: >97%by SDS-PAGE and HPLC analyses.
Molecular Weight: 21.1 kDa
Biological Activity: The ED50as determined by the dose-dependent stimulation of the proliferation of IL6dependent mouse 7TD1 cells is < 0.1 ng/ml, corresponding to a specificactivity of >1×107 units/mg.
Endotoxin: < 0.1 ng/μg ofprotein.
Reconstitution: Centrifugevial prior to opening. Reconstitute in sterile distilled water or aqueousbuffer containing 0.1% BSA to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/ml. Furtherdilutions should be made in appropriate buffered solutions.
Storage: Thelyophilized protein is stable at 2-4°C, but should be kept desiccated at-20°C for long term storage. After reconstitution, the protein is stable for1 week at 2-4°C. For long term storage, aliquot and freeze at -80°C. Avoidrepeated freeze-thaw cycles.
