Theputative LRP binding exosite is thought to overlap with the heparin bindingsite on the SERPINE1 molecule. Binding to LRP or similar receptors leads tothe clearance of SERPINE1 complexes.

Description : SERPINE1is a protein that in humans is encoded by the SERPINE1 gene. SERPINE1 is aserine protease inhibitor (serpin) that functions as the principal inhibitorof tissue plasminogen activator (tPA) and urokinase (uPA), the activators ofplasminogen and hence fibrinolysis (the physiological breakdown of bloodclots). It is a serine protease inhibitor (serpin) protein.
