Description : |
MouseJag2 is a 150 kDa member of the Delta-Serrate-Lag-2 (DSL) family of ligandsthat activate LIN12/Notch proteins, and thereby regulate cell fatedeterminations during development. It is a type 1 transmembrane protein thatis synthesized as a 1247 amino acid (aa) precursor. It contains a 23 aa signalsequence, a large, 1059 aa extracellular region, a 21 aa transmembraneregion, and a short, 144 aa cytoplasmic region. The extracellular regioncontains four potential N-linked glycosylation sites, a DSL domain, 16EGF-like repeats, many of which are also sites of calcium binding, and acysteine-rich region just proximal to the transmembrane segment. |

Activity : |
Measuredby the ability of immobilized protein to enhance BMP-2 induced alkalinephosphatase activity in C3H10T1/2 mouse cells. The ED50 for this effect istypically 0.3-1.2 μg/mL. Measured by its ability to bind rrNotch-1 in afunctional ELISA. |
