| Description : | Erythropoietin (Epo)is a 34 kDa glycoprotein hormone in the type I cytokine family and is relatedto thrombopoietin. Its three N glycosylation sites, four alpha helices, and NtoCterminal disulfide bond are conserved across species. Glycosylation of Epo isrequired for biological activities in vivo. Mature mouse Epo shares 95% aminoacid sequence identity with rat Epo and 73%-82% with bovine, canine, equine, feline, human, ovine, and porcine EPO. |
| Form : | Lyophilized from a 0.2μm filtered solution in PBS with BSA as a carrier protein. |
| N-terminalSequence : | Ala27 |
| Molecular Weight : | 18.6 kDa |
| Activity : | Measuredin a cell proliferation assay using TF1 human erythroleukemic cells. Kitamura,T. et al. (1989) J. Cell Physiol. 140:323. The ED50 for this effectis typically 0.4-2 ng/mL. |
| Endotoxin Level : | <1.0 EUper 1 μg of the protein by the LAL method. |
| Purity : | >90%,by SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions and visualized by silver stain. |
| Reconstitution : | Reconstituteat 10 μg/mL in sterile PBS that containing at least 0.1% human or bovine serumalbumin. |
| Storage : | Use a manualdefrost freezer and avoid repeated freezethaw cycles. 12 months from date of receipt, -20 to -70°C as supplied.1 month, 2 to 8°C under sterile conditions after reconstitution. 3 months,-20 to -70°C under sterile conditions after reconstitution. |
