Description : | EIF2S1, also known as eIF2α, is the alpha subunit of the translation initiation factor eIF2 complex which catalyzes the first regulated step of protein synthesis initiation, promoting the binding of the initiator tRNA to 40S ribosomal subunits. The phosphorylation state of eIF2S1 controls the rate of tRNA translation. When eIF2α is not phosphorylated, translation occurs at a normal rate. However, upon phosphorylation by one of several kinases, eIF2S1 is stabilized, thus preventing the GDP/GTP exchange reaction and slowing translation. |

Ask a questionThe expression of EIF2S1 gene is affected by a variety of factors, including nutrients, growth factors, hormones, stress status, etc. Its expression regulation mainly occurs at the transcriptional level and the post-transcriptional level.
The protein encoded by the EIF2S1 gene can bind to RNA polymerase to form a translation initiation complex, thus participating in the translation process of mRNA.
The protein encoded by the EIF2S1 gene is a subunit of the translation initiation factor eIF-2, which is involved in the initiation of the protein translation process in the cell.
Studies have shown that EIF2S1 gene may play an important role in the process of apoptosis, but its specific mechanism of action still needs further research.
The EIF2S1 gene lays an important role in the cell cycle and cell differentiation, and is involved in the regulation of cell growth, division and differentiation.
Yes, there are different isoforms or variants of the EIF2S1 gene, and these variants may have different functions and expression patterns.
Customer Reviews (3)
Write a reviewEIF2S1 was used to find high purity and no significant impurities.
It was observed that its expression level was high, which was able to meet the needs of the experiment.
Its stability is good, and there is no obvious change in the process of storage and transportation.
