Cat. No. : | ARL4A-4972H |
Description : | ARL4A, also known as ADP-ribosylation factor-like protein 4A, is a member of the ARF-like protein (ARL) subfamily of small GTPases. It is most closely related to ARL6 and ARL7. Unlike ARFs, ARL4 does not activate the cholera toxin ADP-ribosyltranferase. This protein may play a role in neurogenesis during embryonic development and somitogenesis in the early stages of adult spermatogenesis. |

Ask a questionMutations in the ARL4A gene have not been extensively studied. However, some studies have suggested its potential involvement in cancer progression and metastasis. Further research is required to fully understand any disease associations or potential therapeutic implications.
Dysregulation of ARL4A expression has been implicated in various pathological conditions. Alterations in its expression levels or activity may contribute to abnormalities in vesicular trafficking, cytoskeletal organization, and overall cellular homeostasis.
Yes, ARL4A interacts with several proteins to regulate various cellular processes. It can interact with GTPase-activating proteins (GAPs), guanine nucleotide exchange factors (GEFs), and effector proteins involved in vesicle trafficking and cytoskeletal dynamics.
ARL4A itself is not considered a signaling molecule in canonical signaling pathways. However, it may modulate the activity of certain signaling molecules by regulating their intracellular transport or localization.
ARL4A is generally expressed in a wide range of tissues and cell types, indicating its ubiquitous nature. Its expression may vary in different tissues and developmental stages.
The therapeutic potential of targeting ARL4A is currently being explored. Its involvement in cellular processes and potential role in diseases make it a potential therapeutic target. However, further research is needed to fully understand its mechanisms and implications for targeted therapeutics.
