Recombinant Human THBD

Cat.No.: THBD-31179TH
Product Overview: Recombinant fragment, corresponding to amino acids 19-509 of Human Thrombomodulin, expressed in HEK293 cells; 491 amino acids, Predicted MWt 51.5 kDa.
Description: The protein encoded by this intronless gene is an endothelial-specific type I membrane receptor that binds thrombin. This binding results in the activation of protein C, which degrades clotting factors Va and VIIIa and reduces the amount of thrombin generated. Mutations in this gene are a cause of thromboembolic disease, also known as inherited thrombophilia.
Protein length: 491 amino acids
Molecular Weight: 51.500kDa
Tissue specificity: Endothelial cells are unique in synthesizing thrombomodulin.
Biological activity: Biological Activity :Measured by its ability to activate protein C induced cleavage of the chromogenic substrate, BOC-Asp-Pro Arg-AMC in the presence of thrombin. The specific activity is greater than 500 pmoles/min/ug.
Form: Lyophilised
Purity: >95% by SDS-PAGE
Storage buffer: Preservative: NoneConstituents: 10mM Sodium phosphate, pH 7.5
Storage: The lyophilized protein is stable at room temperature for up to 1 month. Working aliquots stored with a carrier protein are stable for at least 3 months at -20°C to -80°C. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles. See reconstitution notes
Sequence Similarities: Contains 1 C-type lectin domain.Contains 6 EGF-like domains.
