Source : | HEK293 |
Species : | Human |
Tag : | His |
Form : | Lyophilized from sterile PBS, pH 7.4Please contact us for any concerns or special requirements. Normally 5 % - 8 % trehalose, mannitol and 0.01% Tween80 are added as protectants before lyophilization. Please refer to the specific buffer information in the hard copy of CoA. |
Bio-activity : | Measured by the ability of the immobilized protein to support the adhesion of NIH-3T3 mouse embryonic fibroblast cells. When cells are added to EpCAM-His coated plates (1.25μg/mL, 100μL/well), approximately >40% will adhere specifically after 30 minutes at 37℃. |
Molecular Mass : | The recombinant human EpCAM consists of 253 amino acids after removal of the signal peptide and has a calculated molecular mass of 28.84 kDa. In SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, the apparent molecular mass of human EpCAM is approximately 36.5 kDa due to glycosylation. |
Proteinlength : | Met1-Lys265 |
Endotoxin : | < 1.0 EU per μg of the protein as determined by the LAL method |
Purity : | > 96 % as determined by SDS-PAGE. ≥ 90 % as determined by SEC-HPLC. |
Storage : | Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20°C to -80°C. Store it under sterile conditions at -20°C to -80°C. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. |
Reconstitution : | It is recommended that sterile water be added to the vial to prepare a stock solution of 0.2 ug/ul. Centrifuge the vial at 4°C before opening to recover the entire contents. |

Ask a questionEpCAM is highly expressed in epithelial tissues and some cancer cells.
It has a controversial role in cell adhesion, possibly contributing to both cell-cell adhesion and anti-adhesive properties.
EpCAM primarily functions in cell signaling, proliferation, and migration.
It often has a pro-tumorigenic role, promoting cancer cell proliferation, migration, and invasion.
EpCAM is used as a biomarker to detect and isolate circulating tumor cells.
Strategies include developing EpCAM-targeted therapies for cancer treatment.
Genetic alterations in EpCAM are linked to some hereditary cancer syndromes.
