Cat. No. : MAPK11-734H
Description : P38β is a member of the p38 MAP kinase family and is activated by both proinflammatory cytokines and environmental stress. The p38β is activated through its phosphorylation by MAP kinase kinases (MKKs), preferably by MKK6. Transcription factor ATF2/CREB2 has been shown to be a substrate of this kinase. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding the same protein have been observed.
Source : E. coli.
Purification : Immobilized Metal Affinity Chromatography.
Product Identity : p38-beta was confirmed as p38-beta by mass spectroscopy LCESI-MS/MS (Protagen AG, Germany).
Activation : With MKK6 SDTD (GenBank accession No.: NM_002758.2).
Storage Buffer : 50 mM HEPES pH 7.5, 100 mM NaCl, 3 mM βME, 20% glycerol.
Concentration : 0.810 μg/μl (Bradford method using BSA [Sigma, cat# A-7638, Lot 79H7641] as standard protein).
Specific Activity : 701 pmol/μg×min.
Storage : -80°C. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles!
