Cat. No. : TIE1-2531H
Description : Tyrosine kinase with immunoglobulin-like and EGF-like domains 1 (Tie-1) are novel endothelial cell tyrosine kinase receptors that are essential for vascular development and remodeling in the embryo. They are expressed almost exclusively in endothelial cells. Tie-1 also have a role in the regulatory pathways of early hematopoiesis and angiogenesis. It is upregulated in diseases such as atherosclerosis and rheumatoid arthritis.
Source : Mammalian cells
Biochem/physiol Actions : Tie (tyrosine kinase with Ig and EGF homology domains) receptors Tie-1 and Tie-2 are receptor tyrosine kinase (RTK) family members with unique structural characteristics that involve their two Ig-like, three EGF-like and three fibronectin III-like motifs in the extracellular domain. They also have a split tyrosine kinase domain in the cytoplasmic region. They are expressed primarily on endothelial cells and hematopoietic progenitors. Tie-1 and Tie-2 are thought to play critical roles in angiogenesis and hematopoiesis. Tie-1 is related to endothelial cell differentiation and maintenance of endothelium integrity.
