Cat. No. : ITLN1-2176H
Description : Omentin 1 (also named intelectin-1, endothelial lectin HL-1 and intestinal lactoferrin receptor) has been recently identified as a novel visceral fat (or omental fat) depot-specific adipokine. Omentin 1 is a secreted protein of 38kDa containing a fibrinogen-related domain. Omentin 1 is highly expressed in the omental fat, and much less in intestine, lung and heart. Addition of recombinant omentin in vitro did not affect basal, but enhanced insulin-stimulated glucose uptake in subcutaneous as well as in omental human adipocytes. Omentin 1 triggers AKT signalling in the absence of insulin.

Ask a question
What are the directions worth paying attention to for ITLN1 in future research? 12/18/2022

In future studies, it is worth paying attention to the relationship between structure and function, expression regulation, association with other proteins or diseases, and therapeutic potential. At the same time, further research is needed on the similarities and differences between them and other protein inhibitors, as well as their differences in different species.

How about the ITLN1 expression regulated? 10/26/2022

The expression level of ITLN1 is regulated by a variety of factors, including processes such as gene transcription, translation, and post-translational modifications, as well as hormones, nutrients, and other environmental factors in the body.

Does ITLN1 have other biological activities? 09/18/2022

Yes, ITLN1 may have other biological activities in addition to trypsin inhibitory activity. For example, it may play a role in processes such as immune regulation, cell growth, and apoptosis.

Are there differences in ITLN1 among different species? 05/05/2022

Yes, there may be some differences in ITLN1 in different species, such as different degrees of variation in structure, function, and expression levels.

How does the synthesis and secretion of ITLN1 in the human body take place? 05/21/2021

The synthesis and secretion of ITLN1 in the human body involves multiple steps and complex regulatory mechanisms, including gene transcription, translation, post-translational modification and secretion.

What are the similarities and differences between ITLN1 and other protein inhibitors? 06/01/2020

There are certain similarities and differences between ITLN1 and other protein inhibitors in terms of structure, function, and mechanism of action. For example, other protein inhibitors may have different mechanisms of inhibition and ranges of action.
