Source : HEK293
Species : Human
Tag : His
Protein length : Met1-Gly198
Form : Lyophilized from sterile PBS, pH 7.4. Normally 5 % - 8 % trehalose, mannitol and 0.01% Tween80 are added as protectants before lyophilization.
Bio-activity : Measured by its ability to bind Iron(III) dihydroxybenzoic acid [Fe(DHBA)3]. The binding of Fe(DHBA)3 results in the quenching of Trp fluorescence in recombinant human Lipocalin-2. Recombinant human Lipocalin-2 can bind >1.5 μM of Fe(DHBA)3.
Molecular Mass : The secreted recombinant human LCN2 consists of 195 amino acids and predicts a molecular mass of 22.7 kDa. As a result of glycosylation, it migrates as an approximately 25.7 kDa protein in SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions.
Endotoxin : < 1.0 EU per μg of the protein as determined by the LAL method
Purity : > 97 % as determined by SDS-PAGE
Storage : Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20°C to -80°C. Store it under sterile conditions at -20°C to -80°C. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Reconstitution : It is recommended that sterile water be added to the vial to prepare a stock solution of 0.2 ug/ul. Centrifuge the vial at 4°C before opening to recover the entire contents.
Gene Name : LCN2 lipocalin 2 [ Homo sapiens ]
Official Symbol : LCN2
Synonyms : LCN2; lipocalin 2; lipocalin 2 (oncogene 24p3); neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin; 24p3; neutrophil gelatinase associated lipocalin; NGAL; oncogene 24p3; siderocalin; p25; lipocalin-2; migration-stimulating factor inhibitor; 25 kDa alpha-2-microglobulin-related subunit of MMP-9; MSFI;

        Q&As (6)

        Ask a question
What diseases are associated with mutations or abnormal expression of the LCN2 protein? 06/19/2022

Mutations or abnormal expression of the LCN2 protein may be associated with a variety of diseases. For example, in hereditary kidney disease, mutations in the uNGAL gene can lead to kidney damage. In addition, in inflammatory diseases, tumors, and other diseases, the expression level of LCN2 protein may also change.

What diseases are LCN2 protein expression levels associated with? 11/15/2020

Studies have shown that the expression level of LCN2 protein is associated with a variety of diseases. For example, in kidney disease, expression levels of the LCN2 protein can be elevated and can be used as one of the biomarkers to assess the extent of kidney damage. In addition, in inflammatory diseases, tumors, and other diseases, the expression level of LCN2 protein can also change.

What is the interaction between the LCN2 protein and other proteins or molecules? 07/22/2020

The interaction between the LCN2 protein and other proteins or molecules is complex. For example, it can participate in lipid metabolism processes by interacting with lipid molecules. In addition, it can interact with other signal transduction molecules to participate in the signal transduction process.

How can the expression level of LCN2 protein be used for disease diagnosis? 04/03/2020

Kidney function can be assessed by measuring the level of uNGAL in urine, and to help diagnose kidney disease, etc. In addition, abnormal levels of LCN2 protein expression can also be used as an indicator to assess the risk and prognosis of other diseases.

How is the activity of LCN2 protein regulated? 02/16/2020

The activity of the LCN2 protein is regulated by a variety of factors. First, its expression level is regulated by gene expression. Secondly, its activity is also regulated by a variety of small molecule compounds, hormones and other substances. In addition, the LCN2 protein can also regulate its activity by interacting with other proteins.

How does the LCN2 protein relate to other biomarkers? 06/06/2019

LCN2 protein has some association with other biomarkers. For example, in kidney disease, expression levels of uNGAL can be used alongside traditional biomarkers such as creatinine to assess kidney function and degree of impairment. In addition, in diseases such as tumors, expression levels of the LCN2 protein may also change and be associated with other biomarkers.
