Description : This gene encodes a member of the peptidase C1 (papain) family of cysteine proteases. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants, which encode preproproteins that are proteolytically processed to generate mature protein products. This enzyme is secreted by antigen-presenting cells during inflammation and may induce pain and itch via activation of G-protein coupled receptors. Homozygous knockout mice for this gene exhibit impaired wound healing, reduced tumorigenesis in a pancreatic cancer model, and reduced pathogenesis in a myasthenia gravis model.
Source : E. coli
Species : Mouse
Tag : His
Form : Freeze-dried powder
Molecular Mass : 33kDa as determined by SDS-PAGE reducing conditions.
Protein length : Leu123~Glu339
Endotoxin : <1.0EU per 1ug (determined by the LAL method)
Purity : > 92%
Characteristic : The isoelectric point is 5.6.
Applications : Positive Control; Immunogen; SDS-PAGE; WB
Stability : The thermal stability is described by the loss rate of the target protein. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37°C for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. (Referring from China Biological Products Standard, which was calculated by the Arrhenius equation.) The loss of this protein is less than 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
Storage : Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles. Store at 2-8°C for one month. Aliquot and store at -80°C for 12 months.
Concentration : 200μg/mL
Storage Buffer : 10mM PBS, pH7.4, containing 1mM DTT, 5% trehalose, 0.01% sarcosyl and Proclin300.
Reconstitution : Reconstitute in 10mM PBS (pH7.4) to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL. Do not vortex

Ask a question
How can the function of CTSS proteins be studied by gene knockout or knockdown techniques? 04/17/2022

The function of CTSS proteins can be studied through gene knockout or knockdown techniques, such as using techniques such as CRISPR-Cas9 or RNAi. These techniques can create cellular models of missing or reduced CTSS proteins to observe their effects on cell death, among other things.

How can I detect the expression level of CTSS protein? 02/05/2022

Expression level of CTSS protein can be detected by immunohistochemistry, western blotting, and real-time quantitative PCR.

How is CTSS protein involved in the process of apoptosis? 10/06/2021

CTSS proteins promote cell death by degrading proteins inside cells. During apoptosis, CTSS proteins degrade key proteins within cells, leading to cell death.

Are the interactions between CTSS proteins and other proteins regulated? 05/04/2021

The interaction between CTSS proteins and other proteins is regulated by the formation of complexes or the regulation of signal transduction pathways. These interactions can be influenced by a variety of factors, such as ion concentrations, neurotransmitters, and growth factors.

What is the relationship between the expression level of CTSS protein and the occurrence and progression of diseases? 02/08/2021

Some studies have shown that the expression level of CTSS protein may be associated with the onset and progression of certain diseases. For example, in some cancers, the expression level of the CTSS protein may change.

In which organelles is CTSS protein expressed? 09/18/2020

It is mainly expressed in lysosomes, which is one of the major proteases in lysosomes.
