||This gene encodes a member of the neurotrophins that have a wide variety of functions in both neural and non-neural tissues. The encoded preproprotein undergoes proteolytic processing to generate a noncovalently linked homodimeric mature protein that can bind to the transmembrane receptor tyrosine kinases to initiate a series of signaling events. Mice lacking the encoded protein exhibit severe defects in the peripheral nervous system including a complete lack of spinal proprioceptive afferents and their peripheral sense organs.

||The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37 centigrade for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate is less than 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
||Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles. Store at 2-8 centigrade for one month. Aliquot and store at -80 centigrade for 12 months.
