Description : This gene encodes a secreted ligand of the TGF-beta (transforming growth factor-beta) superfamily of proteins. Ligands of this family bind various TGF-beta receptors leading to recruitment and activation of SMAD family transcription factors that regulate gene expression. The encoded preproprotein is proteolytically processed to generate a latency-associated peptide (LAP) and a mature peptide, and is found in either a latent form composed of a mature peptide homodimer, a LAP homodimer, and a latent TGF-beta binding protein, or in an active form consisting solely of the mature peptide homodimer. The mature peptide may also form heterodimers with other TGF-beta family members. Mice lacking a functional copy of this gene display developmental defects in multiple organs and perinatal lethality. Heterozygous mutant mice exhibit aortic root aneurysm. This gene encodes multiple isoforms that may undergo similar proteolytic processing.

Ask a question
What is the role of TGFB2 in wound healing and tissue repair? 05/16/2022

It can promote wound healing and tissue repair by stimulating the proliferation and migration of fibroblasts and epithelial cells, as well as promoting collagen synthesis.

Are there potential applications for TGFB2 inhibitors or activators? 02/12/2022

Inhibitors or activators targeting TGFB2 may have potential applications for the treatment of a variety of diseases, including cancer, inflammatory diseases, autoimmune diseases, etc.

How does TGFB2 regulate cell proliferation and differentiation? 10/15/2021

TGFB2 can regulate cell proliferation and differentiation by binding to its receptor and activating downstream signal transduction pathways.

What is the relationship between TGFB2 and immune regulation? 03/28/2021

This protein can be used as an immunomodulator to participate in the differentiation and function of immune cells, as well as the regulation of inflammatory responses.

How is the expression level of TGFB2 regulated? 11/03/2020

The expression level of TGFB2 is regulated by a variety of factors, including transcription factors, signal transduction pathways, and epigenetic modifications.

What is the association of TGFB2 with other proteins or cytokines? 09/17/2020

TGFB2 has a variety of associations with other proteins and cytokines. For example, it may interact with vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and be involved in angiogenesis, and may also interact with apoptosis-related proteins to regulate the apoptotic process.

No complicated experimental steps, suitable for beginners.

    06/28/2022

Excellent performance in Western blot, even if stored for a long time will not affect its performance.

      07/18/2021

The endotoxin levels were low enough not to interfere with the results.
