Description : |
Gdf6, also known asbone morphogenetic protein 13 (BMP13) or cartilage-derived morphogeneticprotein 2 (CDMP2), is a member of the bone morphogenetic protein (BMP) familywhich belongs to the transforming growth factor β (TGFβ) superfamily. Themature Gdf6 with 120 amino acids is a homodimeric protein containing thecharacteristic seven conserved cysteine residues. Gdf5, Gdf6 and Gdf7, whichshare 80-86% identity, define a new subgroup within the BMP family. |
