Recombinant Human Interferon, Gamma

Cat. No.: IFNG-605H
Product Overview: Recombinant HumanIFNG is produced in E. coli.
Description: IFNG also known as Type II interferon orimmune interferon) is a cytokine produced primarily by T-lymphocytes andnatural killer cells. The protein shares no significant homology with IFN-βor the various IFN-α family proteins. The protein also exertsantiproliferative, immunoregulatory and proinflammatory activities and isthus important in host defense mechanisms.
Source: E. coli
Species: Human
Molecular Weight: Approximately 17kDa, a single non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 144 amino acids.
Form: Lyophilized from a0.2 µm filtered concentrated solution in PBS, pH 7.4.
Purity: > 98% by SDS-PAGEand HPLC analyses.
Endotoxin Level: Less than 1EU/µg ofrHu IFNG as determined by LAL method.
Biological Activity: Fully biologicallyactive when compared to standard. The specific activity as determined in aviral resistance assay is less then 0.05 ng/ml, corresponding to a specificactivity of 2.0 x 107 IU/ mg.
Reconstitution: We recommend thatthis vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents tothe bottom. Reconstitute in sterile distilled water or aqueous buffercontaining 0.1% BSA to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL. Stock solutionsshould be apportioned into working aliquots and stored at <-20°C. Furtherdilutions should be made in appropriate buffered solutions.
Storage: This lyophilizedpreparation is stable at 2-8°C, but should be kept at -20°C for long termstorage, preferably desiccated. Upon reconstitution, the preparation isstable for up to one week at 2-8°C. For maximal stability, apportion thereconstituted preparation into working aliquots and store at -20°C to -80°C.Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
