Product Overview: Recombinant human PIK3R1 expressed by Baculovirus is a 86.0 kDa homodimeric protein.
Description: The PIK3R1 comprises of a 110 kDa catalytic subunit and a 85 kDa regulatory subunit. A number of isoforms of the 110 kDa catalytic subunit and the 85 kDa regulatory subunit exist in cells. p85 modulates the interaction between PIK3R1 and platelet-derived growth factor receptor. Furthermore, estrogen receptor isoform ER-alpha binds in a liganddependent manner to the p85-alpha regulatory subunit of PIK3R1. Stimulation with estrogen increases ER-alphaassociated PIK3R1 activity, leading to the activation of protein kinase B/AKT and endothelial nitric oxide synthase.
