Description : |
Chemokine (C-C motif) ligand 2 (CCL2) is a small cytokine belonging to the CC chemokine family that is also known as monocyte chemotactic protein-1 (MCP-1). CCL2 recruits monocytes, memory T cells, and dendritic cells to sites of tissue injury and infection. This chemokine is produced as a protein precursor containing signal peptide of 23 amino acids and a mature peptide of 76 amino acids. |

Formulation/Reconstitution : |
Lyophilized. Reconstitute with sterile phosphate-buffered saline containing at least 0.1% carrier protein. |
Purity : |
>95% as visualized by SDS-PAGE analysis. |
Purification : |
Ion-exchange chromatography. |
Biological Activity : |
The biological activity of recombinant swine CCL2 was determined in a chemotaxis assay using a Boyden chamber with freshly isolated swine PBMCs using a Percoll gradient method. Bioactivity is typically detected at 30 ng/mL steadily, increasing through 1 ug/mL. |
Storage : |
Stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20°C. Stable for at least 3 months when stored in working aliquots with a carrier protein at -20°C. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles. |
