Cat. No. : FABP3-2714H
Description : Fatty acid binding protein is one of a group of lowmolecular weight proteins involved in the solubilization and transport of fatty acids. The release of cytoplasmic heart fatty acid-binding protein (H-FABP) into the plasma of cardiac patients is used as a marker of cardiac damage. In 18 out of 22 patients with established AMI the plasma FABP level was at or above the threshold level in blood-samples taken within 3.5 hours after the first onset of symptoms of AMI, which compares very favourably with more established markers such as CKMB.
Source : Pichia pastoris.
Product Presentation : Single homogenous batch supplied lyophilised from 0.02M NH4HCO3. May contain traces of buffer salts.
Starting Material : Expressed in Pichia pastoris.
Purity : Nominally greater than 96% of the protein is FABP3.
Reconstitution : Use of phosphate buffer containing 0.15M NaCl is recommended.
Storage : Store at 2-8°C (short term). Store <-15°C (long term).

Ask a question
How is FABP3 different from other cardiac biomarkers like troponin? 10/18/2022

While troponin is specific to cardiac muscle and indicative of myocardial damage, FABP3 reflects early-stage cardiac injury and is more sensitive in certain contexts.

Are FABP3 levels specific to heart-related issues? 05/17/2021

While FABP3 is primarily associated with cardiac issues, elevated levels can also be observed in conditions affecting skeletal muscle.

Is FABP3 exclusively a diagnostic marker or does it have prognostic value? 04/25/2020

FABP3 not only helps in diagnosis but also has prognostic value, providing insights into the potential outcomes and recovery of cardiovascular patients.

Can FABP3 be used for early detection of heart attacks? 01/06/2020

Yes, FABP3 is considered a sensitive marker for early detection of myocardial infarction (heart attack).

How does FABP3 contribute to risk assessment in cardiovascular patients? 01/31/2017

Monitoring FABP3 levels helps assess the severity of cardiac damage and aids in risk stratification for cardiovascular events.
