Cat. No. : TNFSF10-2154H
Description : TNF-related apoptosis-inducing ligand (TRAIL) is a ligand molecule which induces apoptosis. It is a type II transmembrane protein with homology to other members of the tumor necrosis factor family. In humans, the gene that encodes for TRAIL is located at chromosome 3q26. TRAIL binds to the death receptors, DR4 and DR5. The process of apoptosis is caspase-8-dependent. This protein preferentially induces apoptosis in transformed and tumor cells, but does not appear to kill normal cells although it is expressed at a significant level in most normal tissues.
Source : E. coli.
Purity : ≥99% (SDS-PAGE). Affinity purified.
Formulation : Liquid. In 20mM HEPES, pH 7.9, containing 120mM sodium chloride, 0.01% Tween 20, 1% sucrose, 1mM DTT.
Concentration : 0.5mg/ml.
Endotoxin Content : <0.004EU/µg protein (LAL test; Bio Whittaker).
Reconstitution : For a special storage and dilution buffer seeKillerTRAIL™ Storage and Dilution Buffer.
Specificity : Binds to human and mouse TRAIL receptors and osteoprotegerin (OPG).
Application : Induces apoptosis in a concentration range of 10-100ng/ml.Note: This protein does not require a cross-linking enhancer for its potent biological activity. For cell lines that require extensive cross-linking of the TRAIL-Rs for killing (e.g. Jurkat) use SuperKillerTRAIL.
Specific Activity : ED50: 20ng/ml (BJAB cells).
Storage : Store at -80°C.
