It selectively binds Wnt ligands that are activators of Wnt signaling. FZD8-Fc has shown potent anti-cancer stem cell effects and induces tumor cell differentiation in preclinical studies.

Members of this family encode seven-transmembrane domain proteins that are receptors for the Wingless type MMTV integration site family of signaling proteins.
