Description : HTRA4 is a serine protease with a conserved trypsin domain and a PDZ domain. As other related family members, HTRA4 may function as a secreted oligomeric chaperone protease to degrade misfolded secretory proteins. HrtA4 may contribute to shallow trophoblast invasion in preeclampsia and imply a potential application as a biomarker for this disorder.
