| Description : |
Human IL-4 exerts its biological effects via signaling through its receptor system, IL-4R. There are two types of the IL-4 receptor complexes, the type I receptor consisting of the IL-4R alpha and the common gamma chain, yc and the type II receptor consisting of IL-4R alpha and the IL-13R alpha. The IL-4R alpha chain contains an extracellular domain of 207 amino acids, a transmembrane domain of 24 amino acids, and an intracellular domain of 569 amino acids. |

| Note : |
If this material is not to be used for coating or labeling or other applications requiring carrier free material), the addition of 0.1% BSA to dilution buffers or dilution in sterile culture media is recommended to enhance stability and minimize absorption to vial. |
| Supplied : |
The sterile filtered solution was lyophilized from 1 x PBS, pH 7.2. |
| Purity : |
Greater than 97% by SDS-PAGE and HPLC analyses. Endotoxin level is less than 0.1 ng per µg (1EU/µg). |
| Reconstitution : |
We recommend a quick spin followed by reconstitution in 1 x PBS, pH 7.2 to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/ml. Allow to set at least 10 minutes. Rotate and/or vortex to mix. Centrifuge for 1-2 minutes at 1000 rpm to concentrate solution in bottom of vial. |
| Reactivity : |
The ED50as determined by its ability to inhibit the IL-4 dependent proliferation of human TF-1 cells is < 5.0 ng/ml (in the presence of 0.5 ng/ml IL-4), corresponding to a specific activity of > 2 x105 units/mg. |
| Storage : |
The lyophilized powder is stable at room temperature for a few weeks but it is best stored desiccated at -20℃. Reconstituted IL-4R should be stored in working aliquots at -20℃. Avoid frequent freeze thaw cycles. |
