• Bio-activity: 1. Measured by its binding ability in a functional ELISA. Immobilized human TGFa at 10 μg/ml (100 μl/well) can bind human EGFR-Fc. The EC50 of human EGFR-Fc is 20-60 ng/ml. 2. Measured in a cell proliferation assay using Balb/3T3 mouse embryonic fibroblast cells. The ED50 for this effect is 0.1-0.5ng/mL.
• Molecular Mass: The recombinant human TGFa consists of 50 amino acids and has a predicted molecular mass of 5.6 kDa. The apparent molecular mass of it is approximately 13 kDa in SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions.
• Purity: > 90 % as determined by SDS-PAGE
• Storage: Store it under sterile conditions at -20°C to -80°C upon receiving. Recommend to aliquot the protein into smaller quantities for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
• Reconstitution: It is recommended that sterile water be added to the vial to prepare a stock solution of 0.2 ug/ul. Centrifuge the vial at 4°C before opening to recover the entire contents.
