Protein Length : Ala253-Gly366 (mature protein, 114 aa)
Description : GDF-3 (previously called Vgr-2) is a TGF-beta superfamily member belonging to the growth/differentiation factor family. GDF-3 is expressed in undifferentiated embryonic stem (ES) cells, white adipose tissue and the brain. The 366 amino acid mouse GDF-3 contains a 22 aa signal sequence, a 230 aa propeptide and a 114 aa mature protein. Mature mouse GDF-3 shares 90% and 83% aa sequence identity with rat and human GDF-3, respectively.
Form : Lyophilized
Bio-activity : Measured by its ability to induce Smad2 phosphorylation in P19 mouse embryonal carcinoma cells. 50-100 ng/mL of Recombinant Mouse GDF-3 can effectively induce Smad2 phosphorylation.
Molecular Mass : 13 kDa (predicted); 14-23 kDa, reducing conditions (SDS-PAGE); 16-18 kDa, non-reducing conditions
Endotoxin : <0.10 EU/ug (LAL method)
Purity : >90% by SDS-PAGE (Silver Staining and Coomassie Blue Staining)
Storage : -20 to -70 C as supplied; 2 to 8 C for 1 month after reconstitution; -20 to -70 C for 3 months after reconstitution
Reconstitution : Reconstitute at 100 ug/mL in 4 mM HCl
