Description : This gene encodes a nuclear receptor protein belonging to the peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor (Ppar) family. The encoded protein is a ligand-activated transcription factor that is involved in the regulation of adipocyte differentiation and glucose homeostasis. The encoded protein forms a heterodimer with retinoid X receptors and binds to DNA motifs termed "peroxisome proliferator response elements" to either activate or inhibit gene expression. Mice lacking the encoded protein die at an embryonic stage due to severe defects in placental vascularization. When the embryos lacking this gene are supplemented with healthy placentas, the mutants survive to term, but succumb to lipodystrophy and multiple hemorrhages. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms.
Source : E. coli
Species : Mouse
Tag : His
Form : PBS, pH7.4, containing 0.01% SKL, 1mM DTT, 5% Trehalose and Proclin300

Protein length : Phe149~Ser273
Endotoxin : <1.0EU per 1µg (determined by the LAL method)
Purity : > 90%
Applications : SDS-PAGE; WB; ELISA; IP
Stability : The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37 centigradefor 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate is less than 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
Storage : Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles. Store at 2-8 centigradefor one month. Aliquot and store at -80 centigradefor 12 months.
Reconstitution : Reconstitute in PBS or others.

Ask a question
How many isoforms of PPARG are there, and what are their weights? 04/07/2022

PPARG has two isoforms, PPARG1 (57 kDa) and PPARG2, a splice variant with an additional 30 amino acids at the N-terminus.

What is the molecular weight of PPARG? 12/16/2021

PPARG has two isoforms with molecular weights of 57 kDa and 54 kDa. Modified PPARG is about 67 kDa.

What does PPARG stand for? 02/02/2021

PPARG stands for Peroxisome Proliferator-Activated Receptor Gamma.

Is there a mitochondria-localized form of PPARG? 01/21/2021

Yes, experimental data suggests a 45 kDa protein immunologically related to PPARG, called mt-PPAR, is located in mitochondria. Its molecular weight is less than PPARG2.

What is the role of PPARG in cellular function? 12/20/2019

PPARG is a ligand-activated transcription factor that plays a crucial role in regulating lipid homeostasis, adipogenesis, insulin resistance, and organ development.

What are the known diseases associated with PPARG defects? 11/10/2017

Defects in PPARG are associated with familial partial lipodystrophy type 3 (FPLD3), susceptibility to obesity, type 2 insulin-resistant diabetes, hypertension, and colon cancer.

Where is PPARG mainly localized? 03/19/2017

PPARG is mainly localized in the nucleus, although it can also be detected in the cytoplasm, exhibiting extra-nuclear/non-genomic actions in certain contexts.
