Description : | Promotes microtubule assbly and stability, and might be involved in the establishment and maintenance of neuronal polarity. The C-terminus binds axonal microtubules while the N-terminus binds neural plasma mbrane components, suggesting that tau functions as a linker protein between both. Axonal polarity is predetermined by tau localization (in the neuronal cell) in the domain of the cell body defined by the centrosome. The short isoforms allow plasticity of the cytoskeleton whereas the longer isoforms may preferentially play a role in its stabilization. |

Customer Reviews (3)
Write a reviewWestern-blot experiments using MAPT as a target have shown highly reproducible results.
This stability of MAPT is very good and can maintain its original properties even after multiple uses.
MAPT's purity and consistency make it a top choice for Western-blot experiments.
Q&As (6)
Ask a questionThe degree of abnormal aggregation of MAMAP proteins can be assessed by a variety of methods, such as immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence staining, Western blot, etc. These methods can detect and quantify abnormally aggregated MAPT proteins.
The MAPT protein is closely related to the nerve cytoskeleton. It is involved in regulating axon formation and maintenance, cytosolic flow, and the normal function of neurons by binding and stabilizing microtubules.
MAPT protein interacts with other proteins in the nervous system, such as α-synuclein, β-kinigin, etc. These interactions may be involved in regulating the structure and function of neurons.
Yes, the expression of MAPT protein is affected by a variety of regulatory mechanisms, including transcriptional regulation, splicing regulation, phosphorylation regulation, etc. These regulatory mechanisms are essential for maintaining normal MAPT protein levels and function.
Future research directions include further elucidating the mechanism of abnormal aggregation and phosphorylation of MAPT protein, exploring the pathogenesis of genetic diseases associated with MAPT gene, finding therapeutic strategies to intervene in abnormal aggregation of MATT, and developing biomarkers related to MAPT protein for early diagnosis and therapeutic monitoring.
The MAPT protein plays an important role in clinical diagnosis. By measuring the level of the MAPT protein in the blood or cerebrospinal fluid, it can help identify different types of neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer's disease and prefrontal temporal dementia.
