Description : | PCNA is a replication accessory factor and is also involved in DNA repair. During replication, PCNA acts as a processivity factor of DNA polymerases δ and ε. In DNA repair, PCNA is required for nucleotide excision repair, is involved in the long patch base excision repair, and is critical in error-free post replication repair, as well as translesion DNA synthesis. Loading of PCNA onto DNA may require RFC and RPA. |
