• Description: Bromodomain-containing protein 4 (BRD4) is a member of the bromodomain and extra-terminal domain (BET) protein family. BRD4 contains two tandem bromodomains: BD1 and BD2. BRD4 (BD1) functions as an epigenetic reader – recognizing and interpreting histone acetylation marks to recruit transcriptional machinery and chromatin remodeling complexes. BRD4 (BD1) is involved in the regulation of cell cycle progression, with its overexpression promoting cell proliferation and survival. Furthermore, it has been implicated in the development and progression of cancer as it regulates the expression of oncogenes and tumor suppressor genes.
