Description : |
The Lgals7constitute a large family of carbohydrate-binding proteins with specificityfor N-acetyl-lactosamine-containing glycoproteins. At least 14 mammalianLgals7, which share structural similarities in their carbohydrate recognitiondomains (CRD), have been identified. The Lgals4 have been classified into theprototype Lgals7, which contain one CRD and exist either as a monomer or anoncovalent homodimer; The chimera Lgals7 containing one CRD linked to anonlectin domain; and the tandem-repeat Lgals7 consisting of two CRDs joinedby a linker peptide. |
