Description: PIK3CD(p110-delta/p85-alpha) Active is a member of the PI3K family thatphosphorylates phosphoinositides on the 3-hydroxyl group of the inositolring. PIK3CD plays a role in oncogenic transformation, and is consistetlyexpressed at a high level in blast cells. PIK3CD can play a selective role inthe amplification of phosphatidylinositol triphosphate (PIP3) levels thatlead to neutrophil polarization, and regulates directional migration, but notrandom locomotion. PI3K signaling pathway is involved in immune responsesrelevant to the pathogenesis of rheumatoid arthritis and other inflammatorydiseases.
