Cat. No. : Gdf3-718M
Description : Gdf3 is a TGFβsuperfamily member belonging to the growth/differentiation factor family.Gdf3 is expressed in undifferentiated embryonic stem (ES) cells, adiposetissue and the brain. In ES cells, it maintains pluripotency and influencesearly cell fate decisions. For example, frog embryos injected with Gdf3develop a secondary dorsal axis and deletion of mouse Gdf3 can producedefects in the anterior visceral endoderm of the pregastrulation embryo.
Source : E. coli-derived.
Form : Lyophilized from a0.2 μm filtered solution in Acetonitrile and TFA.
N-terminalSequence : Ala253
Molecular Weight : 13.1 kDa
Activity : Measuredby its ability to bind with Activin RIB/Fc Chimera in the presence ofrmCripto in functional ELISA. Chen, et al. (2005) Development 133:319.Immobilized rmGdf3 at 1 μg/mL (100 μL/well) can bind rhActivin RIB/Fc Chimerawith an apparent KD < 100 nM.
Endotoxin Level : <1.0 EUper 1 μg of the protein by the LAL method.
Purity : >90%,by SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions and visualized by silver stain.
Reconstitution : 100μg/mL in sterile 4 mM HCI

Explain the crosstalk between GDF3 signaling and other cellular pathways. 04/08/2022

GDF3 signaling may crosstalk with Wnt, Notch, and other signaling pathways, modulating their activities and integrating them into a complex regulatory network during development.

Discuss the role of GDF3 in organogenesis and tissue development during embryogenesis. 02/18/2021

GDF3 is implicated in organogenesis, influencing the development of various tissues and organs, including the heart, nervous system, and mesoderm-derived structures.

Explain the post-translational modifications involved in regulating GDF3 activity. 05/27/2020

Post-translational modifications, such as glycosylation and phosphorylation, play roles in regulating GDF3 activity, influencing its stability, secretion, and interaction with receptors.

What are the signaling pathways activated by GDF3, and how do they contribute to cellular processes? 09/11/2019

GDF3 activates the SMAD signaling pathway, influencing cellular processes such as proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis, especially during early embryonic development.

How is GDF3 involved in the regulation of germ cell development and fertility? 12/15/2018

GDF3 is essential for germ cell development and contributes to the establishment of primordial germ cells, influencing fertility and reproductive success.
